    My Story

I am a current serving member with Victoria Police, and over the past few years, I have observed friends and work colleagues leaving the job due to PTSI. Some have committed suicide, whilst some are on a long waiting list of up to 18 months for PTSI treatment.

It not only affects them personally it also affects family and friends.

24 years ago, I recall my first day walking into the Victoria Police Academy and hearing the words:

Welcome, you are about to have a front row seat to the world. You will see and encounter everything first-hand. You will deal with situations that no one would think could or should ever occur. You will have to make split decisions on the spot and have no time to think about it. You will just do it.

My mission is for all Victoria Police members, current and retired, to receive immediate, secure, and effective treatment for PTSI and mental health challenges, bypassing long public wait times to prevent suicide and rehabilitate those affected by trauma in policing. I am dedicated to breaking the stigma and building a stronger future for our protectors.

    Mission Statement.

Protecting the Protectors exists to ensure that Victoria Police Officers, Protective Services Officers, and Police Veterans receive the mental health support they deserve. We raise vital funds to provide access to specialised treatment at the St. John of God Langmore Centre, breaking down barriers for those without coverage or financial means. By supporting our members and their families, we honour their service, confront the impacts of PTSI, and work to prevent lives lost to untreated trauma. Together, we stand committed to safeguarding the well-being of those who have dedicated their lives to protecting ours.

    Our Supporting Partners.

We proudly work alongside organisations committed to improving mental health outcomes and supporting emergency service workers, veterans and their families.
